Thanks to everyone that came out to the shows in New York and California last month! It was great to see so many of you. I’m hoping to be back on the West Coast this Fall for some more shows. Had an amazing time at the Grammys with the Healthy Food For Thought team… although the Grammy went to Julie Andrews I think we all were just so thankful to be nominated. Here are some pics from the red carpet and from our show at Tarrytown Music Hall, opening for Rusted Root on flickr and Facebook.

Hope you’re settling into the new year well. I’m back in NYC after some much needed downtime and am working on new songs… I finally have a little extra time on my hands that I’m using to finish song ideas that have come up over the last couple of years while we were touring like mad… I figured we played about 200 shows since the release of Reverie… phew… now that we’re into 2010 it’s time to play NYC at one of our favorite spots, Rockwood Music Hall. Please join us on Friday, February 5th at 7 PM. This will be a full band show, details are below.
Here are a couple of videos from our most recent NYC show at The Living Room, early December. Thanks to our pal Unsteady Freddie who filmed these and posted them… please help us out by commenting, sending these links on to your friends/colleagues and posting on Twitter, Facebook and the like! Thank you!
An update on WFUV HD Radio, The Alternate Side in New York City: Thanks to your downloads, three songs off Reverie are now in the Top 5 most downloaded songs on the station… ‘Doing Time’ is in fact Number 1 and has been for the last three weeks! If you haven’t yet, you can download for FREE at http://www.thealternateside.org/mp3/top
Look for a couple of new songs to be released this April… ‘This Sacrifice’ and ‘Waiting for the Wave’ are two songs we recorded during the Reverie sessions that didn’t make the album. They’ll be available on iTunes.
WGN Radio’s Steve and Johnnie in Chicago are presenting and emcee-ing our show in Chicago, April 30th at the Skokie Theatre. Also on the bill is Anne Harris, please mark your calendars. The Chicago Examiner gave us a great review here: http://www.examiner.com/x-17121-Chicago-Live-Music-Examiner~y2009m12d2-Jann-Klose-review-of-Reverie
HOUSE CONCERTS: If you’d like to have us perform at your home or event, please reply to this email directly and let’s set something up. We’re available to play in different formations and look forward to hearing from you.

If you are reading this before 11:30 AM EST today, tune in to WAMC radio where you can hear me on Performance Place with Sarah LaDuke. The program broadcasts in seven Northeast States as well as online. You’ll hear me play a new song and talk about my recent trip to Europe and my songwriting process. RENAISSANCE 40TH ANNIVERSARY TOUR!
I’m very excited to announce that I will be opening for English Progressive Rock heroes Renaissance on their 40th Anniversary Celebration Tour. There are nine shows in theatres and performing arts centers in the Northeast U.S. I had the pleasure of collaborating on a sell-out show at the Sellersville Theater with Annie Haslam, John Tout and my band about a year ago. If you missed that show here’s your chance to see and hear Renaissance and myself at some amazing venues.
As always, thanks for reading and for supporting live music. See you soon!

Ireland, UK, BBC Radio + Tour Notes
Posted: August 3, 2009 Filed under: General Stuff, Live Shows, Radio | Tags: BBC, Berlin, Elliott Murphy, Fancy Toys, Hamburg, Hard Rock Cafe, Ireland, Normandy All Stars, olivier durand, Paris, Summer Sundae Fringe Festival, Tbilisi, Tom Copson, Tour, UK Leave a comment »Hi - I’m writing to you from Galway, Ireland where I’ve got a (rainy) night off. Now just over half way through this four-week long European tour I’m looking forward to my shows in Ireland and the UK starting tomorrow night in Galway…. I’m listing the upcoming shows below, a little recap first:
I started this tour in Le Havre, France after flying into Paris. Had a fantastic time there. A very friendly welcome. Couldn’t have done the gig as succesfully without the support of Olivier Durand and the Normandy All Stars. Some of you know Olivier and the N.A.S. as Elliott Murphy’s band. I’ve had the pleasure of opening for him at his American shows, which many of you have been to. Elliott and his band will be back in the U.S. this December and we will doing a few more shows together… These guys are great. They also learned what seemed to be almost all the songs off “Reverie” – Merci beaucoup to all that made it out!
After a day off in Paris I flew to Hamburg, Germany where I got to spend some time with my family… then did two shows in that beautiful town… probably some of the best nights I’ve seen there. Especially Friday night at Silber with Duncan Townsend on the bill was just a fabulous evening. Check him out if you get the chance.
The most exotic journey of this tour so far occurred the following day when I flew to Tbilisi, Georgia to play at a festival there. After being picked up at the airport in the middle of night (the main time when flights arrive/depart there, probably due to its proximity to Europe, Asia and the Middle East – it being in the heart of the South Caucasus), I was taken to my hotel. A tour of this ancient city, founded in the 5th century followed the next day. I found this place to be very colorful and filled with hospitable people. Part old Russia, part Middle East, part Asia, it feels Western in its commercial pursuits. I plan to be back for next year’s festival.
On to Leipzig, Germany from there where I played for the first time after lunch at Leipzig University who helped make the show possible. I’m adding pictures to my facebook profile (http://www.facebook.com/jann.klose) as I’m going along… if you’re not on facebook, no worries, I will put some up on my site as well. After Leipzig, on to Berlin! I’m really starting to fall in love with that city. Shows there get better all the time… thanks to all that came out and made it another good night in the German Capital.
Alright, hope to see you at these upcoming shows! Please let your friends and/or family know… thanks all!

Greetings!
Hoping this note finds you well. The band and I have had an amazing summer and played some of our biggest shows to date. We’ve made many new friends and thank you all for coming out to the shows.
Some highlights include performing at XM Radio, the German Embassy in DC where we got to play some Weill, Grönemeyer and Knef; our performance at the Martin Guitar 175th Anniversary Concert at the State Theatre and jamming with Rosanne Cash, Roger McGuinn and Marty Stuart was tons of fun. Then, on September 20th we played to a sold out crowd at the Sellersville Theater with Annie Haslam and John Tout of Renaissance; watching those two reunite after 30 years of not playing together was pretty amazing.
There are new pictures up online at the Website, MySpace and Facebook.
Shows in PA and Rochester this week!
On Wednesday, 10-8 we’re at East Stroudsburg University for a show that’s open to the public. Then, on Friday, 10-10 we’re making out debut at the River Street Jazz Cafe in Wilkes-Barre, PA and on Saturday, 10-11 we’re back at The Mez in Rochester, NY. Tour Diary + diese Woche in D-land
Posted: July 20, 2008 Filed under: General Stuff, Live Shows, Radio | Tags: Berlin, Diary, Hamburg, Radio, Tour, UK Leave a comment »Hi!
After 10 days of travel and shows in the UK I just arrived in Berlin, Germany this morning. Feeling a bit tired but happy about how the shows have been going. The tour started out with two gigs in London, one in Walthamstow and one in Hammersmith’s The Regal Room. I then travelled to the Midlands and played shows at a variety of venues in Leicester, Birmingham, Stourbridge, Coventry and Cambridge as well as a couple of spots on BBC radio. No, I haven’t lost my American accent… and when I try to sound British it gets ridiculous pretty quickly.
To everyone that came out to these shows and helped make them happen, Anne, Barry, Norma, Marsha, John…. thank you! It’s been so nice to meet so many new folks that made me feel right at home. What a treat to play for you all. I hope to be back for another UK tour in 2009.
