Hi - I’m writing to you from Galway, Ireland where I’ve got a (rainy) night off. Now just over half way through this four-week long European tour I’m looking forward to my shows in Ireland and the UK starting tomorrow night in Galway…. I’m listing the upcoming shows below, a little recap first:

I started this tour in Le Havre, France after flying into Paris. Had a fantastic time there. A very friendly welcome. Couldn’t have done the gig as succesfully without the support of Olivier Durand and the Normandy All Stars. Some of you know Olivier and the N.A.S. as Elliott Murphy’s band. I’ve had the pleasure of opening for him at his American shows, which many of you have been to. Elliott and his band will be back in the U.S. this December and we will doing a few more shows together… These guys are great. They also learned what seemed to be almost all the songs off “Reverie” – Merci beaucoup to all  that made it out!

After a day off in Paris I flew to Hamburg, Germany where I got to spend some time with my family… then did two shows in that beautiful town… probably some of the best nights I’ve seen there. Especially Friday night at Silber with Duncan Townsend on the bill was just a fabulous evening. Check him out if you get the chance.

The most exotic journey of this tour so far occurred the following day when I flew to Tbilisi, Georgia to play at a festival there. After being picked up at the airport in the middle of night (the main time when flights arrive/depart there, probably due to its proximity to Europe, Asia and the Middle East – it being in the heart of the South Caucasus), I was taken to my hotel. A tour of this ancient city, founded in the 5th century followed the next day. I found this place to be very colorful and filled with hospitable people. Part old Russia, part Middle East, part Asia, it feels Western in its commercial pursuits. I plan to be back for next year’s festival.

On to Leipzig, Germany from there where I played for the first time after lunch at Leipzig University who helped make the show possible. I’m adding pictures to my facebook profile (http://www.facebook.com/jann.klose) as I’m going along… if you’re not on facebook, no worries, I will put some up on my site as well. After Leipzig, on to Berlin! I’m really starting to fall in love with that city. Shows there get better all the time… thanks to all that came out and made it another good night in the German Capital.

Alright, hope to see you at these upcoming shows! Please let your friends and/or family know… thanks all!
