Studio update & Summer shows
June 12, 2007
My apologies for being late with this post - things have been a bit crazed. However, I promised I would write about how things have been going for us in the studio. I’m really enjoying working with Stewart Lerman. He’s a wonderful producer and engineer. We’ve recorded 3 songs with him so far and I think we’ll end up doing one more. Next week we’re back at Water Music to track a bunch more songs that I’m producing myself.
The band has been playing so well. We’ve had some great musicians and arrangers record with us - in fact, if you were at the Rockwood Music Hall show in NYC last week you will already have heard the talents of Leah Potteiger on Violin and Pedro da Silva on Portugese guitar. We had a great time that night and I was really pleased with the turn out! Thanks to everyone that came out! If you missed the show, we’ll be back at the Rockwood on July 28th for a Saturday night show!
In addition to Leah and Pedro, we also had Mr. Ryan Scott play electric on these first few tracks we recorded two weeks ago. Ryan sounded great - he’s an exceptional player as far as I’m concerned.
This Spring and Summer is shaping up to be pretty busy. On June 23rd we’re playing at the New York Book Festival in Central Park. In July we’ll perform shows in Canton, OH, Cleveland, OH, Baldwinsville, NY, Syracuse, NY and NYC. I’m also making a trip up to Maine to play guitar for my good friend Jeffrey Frace in a showcase he’s doing at the Stonington Opera House. We hope you can make it out to some of these. The upstate shows will both be new markets for us so please tell your friends in those areas to come by and say hello!
