Greetings! I hope you are all enjoying Spring… I know it has been a while since I have written. After a busy April tour schedule I used this past month to write and work on tour planning for the summer. There are a lot of shows coming up this month here in the US. In additon to MA and upstate NY gigs we have a full band show in NYC at Rockwood Music Hall on June 21st, 7 PM. June 24-26 we’ll be on the road in Ohio as well. This July/August I will be embarking on my second tour of Europe, including shows in in France, Germany, Ireland and the UK. Please spread the word on all the upcoming dates to your friends and family. We hope to see many of you. Details here: http://www.jannklose.com/tour.html

REVERIE radio airplay passes 100 FM Stations!!

It appears as if we’ve just added the 100th station to play songs from Reverie! Ironically the station is not in the U.S. but in Indonesia and is called Prambors FM. Here at home, another station that started playing Reverie this past week is WUSB (Stony Brook University). So, thank you to all of you that called stations or recommended stations to us. You helped make this happen. Remember to support your local public and college radio station since they’re all that’s left on American FM radio that still has a choice of what they play. Otherwise it’s iPod time … so, download Reverie if you haven’t yet and call these stations if you’re near them!! Here’s a full list for you to check out. Thanks to Peter Hay and Anne Leighton for their hard work.

As always, thanks for reading.

Hi,

A couple of NYC shows coming up in March that I would like to invite you to! The first one is at our “other home” in the city, Rockwood Music Hall on Sunday, March 8th at 8 pm with the band.

The second show marks my debut at Joe’s Pub and takes place the following Sunday, March 15th at 7 pm. That one’s with Chris on upright bass. Also on the bill is my friend Ben Arthur featuring Pulitzer-nominated author David Gates.

As we’ve been on the road a ton over the past year there’s been little time to set up shows in the city so we’d love for you to join us and check out some new material as well. For those of you not in or around NYC, check out some new YouTube video additions. Also, “Remember Your Name” is up on MySpace now.

Mar 8, 2009 Sunday, 8:00 PM: Rockwood Music Hall, New York, NY

Greetings!

I’m back in the frigid Northeast after almost 3 weeks of tour dates in California. The trip was a blast… can’t wait for the next one. Opening the shows for Elliott Murphy and his guitarist Olivier Durand has been a rewarding experience in many ways. On this second leg of the tour I finally got to do some jamming with both of them! I’ve updated my flickr with lots of new pictures, from this tour as well as from other shows, including one of my bassist Chris Marolf and I jamming with Rosanne Cash, Roger McGuinn, Marty Stuart, John Leventhal and others at the Martin Guitar 175th Anniversarty Concert last fall. Take a look on my website, MySpace or Facebook/iLike.

Thanks to everyone out in California for your support and making me feel welcome. Having so many of you come out to the shows and taking the time to get together and hang out was a pleasure. I hope to back out West soon.

SHOWS THIS AND NEXT MONTH:

2-5-09: Clear Conscience Cafe, Cambridge, MA
2-19-09: World Cafe Live, Philadelphia, PA
2-21-09: Crossing Borders Live at The Lost Dog Cafe, Ithaca, NY
3-8-09: Rockwood Music Hall, New York, NY w/ Band!

Looking forward to seeing everyone! Please tell your friends. Details and directions for all upcoming shows are on my website Tour Page and on MySpace.

Cheers,
Jann

Going to California

January 5, 2009

Happy new year!

2008 was an incredible year for me. Packed with about 100 shows in 3 countries, I’ve been lucky enough to share the stage with folks like Michael Glabicki of Rusted Root, Annie Haslam & John Tout of Renaissance as well as Rosanne Cash, Marty Stuart and Roger McGuinn. On many of these shows I was fortunate to have various members of my band play with me: Chris, Lars, Leah, Megan, Patrick, Sherry here in the States and Mario in Germany… and I’m grateful to all of them. This past year we played some of the biggest and yes, some of the smallest shows ever! But one thing I’ve learned is that whether you play for 10 people or 1000 people you always play for those that are in the audience not those that aren’t. Where did I get that phrase from? Elliott Murphy… and, this brings me to the next classic artist I’ve been able to share the stage with and will again on this upcoming second leg of our tour.

Please join us for these dates and if you cannot make it, yes, please tell your friends! It really does help… and, thank you a million times over to those of you that have already told your friends, emailed and called them, rallied to get them out in large groups to shows and posted hundreds of bulletins and comments online to promote them – you know who you are!

Lastly, I want to annouce is that I am working on new songs, some of which we’ve started to play on the road and will start recording this Spring… more on that soon. O, and I will be reunited with two of my favourite people and musicians yet again when I play at the Hotel Cafe in Los Angeles this Saturday! Kevin Hindes and Sherry Luchette will be playing with me that night (both played on every damn song on The Strangest Thing, which is having a renaissance of it own thanks to the guys on Chicago’s Feast of Fools).

Here goes, see you soon? Thank you all once again!

Greetings!

Hoping this note finds you well. The band and I have had an amazing summer and played some of our biggest shows to date. We’ve made many new friends and thank you all for coming out to the shows.

Some highlights include performing at XM Radio, the German Embassy in DC where we got to play some Weill, Grönemeyer and Knef; our performance at the Martin Guitar 175th Anniversary Concert at the State Theatre and jamming with Rosanne Cash, Roger McGuinn and Marty Stuart was tons of fun. Then, on September 20th we played to a sold out crowd at the Sellersville Theater with Annie Haslam and John Tout of Renaissance; watching those two reunite after 30 years of not playing together was pretty amazing.

There are new pictures up online at the Website, MySpace and Facebook.
